The client had bought a display kitchen from Anderson Sinclair at Grand Designs Live 2017, however it did not fit straight into their room, where they were having some work done. So we broke the design down into units, playing around with connecting the different spaces in the clients house. We decided on creating a utility unit towards the playroom which could also be used for toy storage, and an island in the middle area which looked out into the garden. The island at first felt cramped until we decided to make it more social seating, interacting with both the kitchen, the cook and the rest of the family in the living space.

This project finished in 2018.
